Constanze Breuer is Scientific Officer in the Science, Policy and Society Division of the German National Academy of Sciences Leopoldina. She has a professional background in general and comparative literature (Free University of Berlin), philosophy (King's College London) and science management (German University of Administrative Sciences Speyer).

Why I am participating

"I am involved in “Science for Democracy” because an open, democratic society needs independently obtained, reliable knowledge. To achieve this, scientists must be free from political constraints and able to decide what they research and how they do so. Only then can their research results truly benefit society."
